Biography
Rosendale is a rancher and businessman, who built his family-owned land management business into a large firm. He has lived in Montana since 2002.
Rosendale served in the Montana state legislature for six years, rising to the rank of Senate Majority Leader. In 2016, Rosendale ran for state auditor, winning the general election by eight points. Even in leadership, Rosendale amassed a conservative record, leading the fight against Medicaid expansion in the state. He generated statewide attention when he fought the establishment over the construction of a building that was clearly an earmark for one particular company. And, as a freshman in 2011, he fought his own leadership when they passed a bill that expanded eminent domain abuse.
