Biography

After finishing school, Nick joined the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne. After 9/11, he volunteered for the Army Special Forces and served two tours in Iraq as a Green Beret. Freitas was elected to the Virginia General Assembly in 2016.

Republican Pickup Opportunity: Virginia’s 7^th Congressional District is one of the most competitive House races in the country. President Trump won this district by 6 points, and Republicans only lost it by a hair in 2018. On July 18, Freitas clinched the Virginia GOP Convention and will now face Democrat freshman Abigail Spanberger in November.
